Pure relationships.  Pure Karma.  Pura Vida.

KRAIN Costa Rica is proud of our continuing community outreach programs that improve the quality of life for those less fortunate.

We absolutely love living in Costa Rica. To us, this country is simply magical.

We had heard that this idyllic coastal destination was considered one of the happiest places on Earth and that the locals had a unique and special way of viewing and enjoying life. As we began spending more and more time here, we realized it was all true.

Not only is Costa Rica stunning, with lush green mountains, crystal clear ocean waters and one of the most diverse populations of flora and fauna on the planet, but the people are welcoming, genuine, and extend an intoxicating warmth. Even to us expats!

That is why it is so incredibly important to us to help those less fortunate in our community through our Costa Rica non-profit.

KRAIN's Community Pledge

When we came to Costa Rica, we brought our years of experience in real estate, our goals, mission statement, and a whole lot of hope that we could duplicate the success here we had enjoyed back in the states. We are thrilled to say that we have experienced tremendous success here in Costa Rica. Our business has been allowed to grow and prosper, even during some of the most challenging of economic times.

We recognize that this success would never have been possible without the support of our local community.

We believe that together with our clients and agents, our Costa Rica community-based programs can create change and growth in the communities in which we live and work. This is why KRAIN Costa Rica iscommitted to improving the quality of life for those less fortunate by supporting programs in collaboration with the Kaiser Breitlander Memorial Fund to improve the quality of life for those less fortunate by supporting programs that focus on education, youth development, and community.

On January15, 2015, the lives of Sarah and Peter were changed forever when they lost their first-born and only son, KaiserJames Breitlander.  Kaiser was a happy little boy who loved to laugh and make others smile.  Kaiser had a light about him that effected everyone he met.

During the darkest days of their grief, their friends helped them establish the Kaiser Breitlander Memorial Fund.  Since inception, this fund has been used as a scholarship to help a special little boy named Dustin, who was very close to Kaiser. This scholarship has given Dustin the gift of a quality, bilingual education and has forever impacted his life in a positive way.

In 2018, we shifted the the goal of the Memorial Fund to continue to sponsor Dustin and more children like him. We have seen the impact of how a quality education can dramatically improve the lives of children and their families, and we want to bestow this gift on more underprivileged children in the community.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 - $15,000 every year to go to the Scholarship Fund at La Paz Community School.  100% of all donations will go toward assisting Dustin, and other children like him, attend La Paz School and thrive.

La Paz is recognized as a non-profit association in Costa Rica as well as a qualified recipient of World Children’s Project, a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization in the United States. As a result, all donations made from both the USA and Costa Rica are tax deductible.  (See FAQ from this link)

Thank you to each and every one of you who can help keep Kaiser’s spirit and legacy alive.  You have our deepest gratitude, and we are forever thankful to have you in our lives.
